Built on Understanding, Not Just Acquisition

Remnant Resources was founded in 2022 when fifth-generation mineral owner Clay Brewer decided it was time to create a company founded by mineral owners working with and for mineral owners to arrive at the best possible solution for their interests.

Where Experience Drives Speed and Simplicity

Here at Remnant Resources, we pride ourselves on being transparent with owners about their title, our offers, and evaluations. We leverage our industry relationships and our combined 100+ years of experience in geology and land to arrive at a quick evaluation and an easy closing process.

The Founder

Background & Education

I am Clay Brewer, the founder of Remnant Resources. My intrigue for the oil and gas industry began as a child, when I would listen to my great-grandfather, William “Pete” Long, talk about his leases and the wells being drilled and completed on their East Texas ranch.

A Growing Passion for Energy

My interest in the industry never wavered as I grew up, and it led me to Angelo State University, where I graduated with my BBA in Marketing. During my time in school, I worked at the Aermotor Windmill Company, helping local farmers and ranchers facilitate their water needs. It was here that my intrigue in the oil industry began to peak, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

From the Field to the Frontlines

In 2019, I began my career in the oil industry as a landman working on negotiating leases, working on mineral acquisitions, and spending countless hours in the courthouse determining accurate mineral ownership. I later took my admiration for the industry further and attended Texas Tech University, where I graduated in December 2021 with my Master of Science in Energy.

A Better Way to Reach What Was Left Behind

Upon graduation, I realized there were countless mineral interests, owners, and areas that were forgotten about or “picked over." I knew there had to be a better way of reaching these “remains,” and thus began the start of Remnant Resources.

Family Life

My wife, Nicole, and I are active members of Redeemer Church in Midland, where we lead an adult small group. We were married in 2018, and she, too, is a landman. We both believe in serving in the local communities and giving back all that the Lord has blessed us with.

Guided by Purpose, Grounded in Community

I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Permian Basin Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Nicole serves on the Board of Directors for Spectrum of Solutions here in Midland.

A Note of Appreciation

When we aren’t working or attending events tied to our organizations, we both enjoy golfing and spending time with our daughter and our dog. Thank you for your interest in Remnant Resources. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you as you navigate the mineral acquisition process.
